Health and Safety Information/Evidence

Written Synopsis

 Content:

Describe the events in your film.

There's a mystery in my movie. The action begins in a forest. We first meet the main and supporting characters in the story at the beginning. This is because they are schoolchildren who wander around the building. Within this scene. However, something takes place. A doll that one of the children finds is cursed and makes all the children into dolls. There is dramatic irony. When this happens, the movie becomes more suspenseful. During the rest of the film, the lead characters find the school and investigate. The film is left on a cliff hanger awaiting the sequel to proceed.

Describe each key character using the angles of articles approach.

Key characters: The new kid-The child is the one who is investigating what is occurring at his school and attempting to determine why. He is known as "the new kid." In order to protect his school and figure out who is doing all of these crimes, he is crucial to the plot of this movie.

The friendship group that is together: The group of kids will be with the new kid exploring but will act like the are scared and might be acting silly.

Narrative

Todorov's Narrative

Equilibrium:

This commences at the outset of the movie. At this point, the kids begin to explore and stroll through the forest.

Disruption:

When the antagonist, who is under the influence of the strange doll, terrorizes and pursues the group with the intention of turning them into dolls, the balance is upset.

Recognition:

The main character chooses to investigate and find out what's going on at this point after noticing they have spotted the same doll multiple times and realizing they are being followed.

Repair:

The main character makes the decision to investigate, assess the situation honestly, and take some chances. The antagonist and the protagonist eventually locate the school in the epilogue. But the doll is still missing because it is left on a cliff-hanger when they go to the school.

New Equilibrium:

When the children learn that the doll is being hunted and is frightening them, they come to understand that the school is also a target of hunting.

Linear and Non-Linear structure:

Both linear and non-linear structures are used in our suspense thriller movie. The youngsters' discovery that the school is abnormal is the cause of this. But it keeps going in a straight line, which ties the thriller together.

Narrative Devices:

We'll use discoveries as one kind of storytelling element. This will be happening all the time throughout the thriller, which ties the whole thing together.

The McKee's five-part structure is another storytelling device that we'll be employing. There are five components to this construction.

An inciting incident-It is at this point that the adversary regains control and the lead child discovers the school.
Progressive complications- At this point, the doll becomes more mischievous, which prompts the children to explore further.
Crisis -At this point, the doll starts acting out of the blue.
Climax - This is where the kids found the school.
Resolution- This is when the kids enter the school, and the story gets left on a Cliff hanger.

We'll additionally use poetic justice as a storytelling element. At this point, the children discover the reality and may perhaps save the school. In the conclusion, the doll also makes an appearance at their school.

Genre:

Identity 3 thriller conventions. a sub-genre and how it will fit in. Give evidence. Identity 3 thriller themes and explain how vour thriller will use them

Music will be employed as one thriller convention. This is going to be used often in the movie to build suspense and tension. Mysteries will also be employed as a thriller convention. Lastly, the props element will be employed as another convention.

We plan to include a mystery thriller subgenre in our movie. This will be demonstrated by the schoolchildren as they attempt to identify the doll's identity and the reason she is at their school. Both long and short pictures, as well as the soundtrack, will be used. This will support the development of the thriller's subgenre.

The thriller themes in the film will be composed with the following:

. Mystery- This is a very important part in the story because we leave the story on a cliff-hanger and the doll gets discovered outside of the school

. Conflict- This thriller seems to be full of conflict. This is due to the fact that if the other two children behave fearfully and refuse to explore, they may find themselves in danger.

Style:

We intend to employ an assortment of camera angles and movements in our suspenseful movie. We will use establishing/long shots for the example. This way, the audience would be able to witness the schoolchildren explore the forest. We'll also use long, short shots as an illustration of camera motions. This enables the spectator to experience suspense.

Transitions and sound effects will be added as we edit the footage we have gathered. The programme Final Cut Pro will be used by us. In order to produce a fade out in the final moments of the movie and pique viewers' interest in what will happen next, the transitions will be helpful. When we edit, we will additionally add the musical effects. This will assist build suspense for the horror film we plan to produce and excite the audience.

We will also add music and other sound effects to the horror movie at the post-production stage. In light of this, the mystery and terror elements can be brought to life using music and other sound effects. In addition to keeping the audience from growing bored, this will improve the movie in numerous ways.

There were just two filming locations that were used for the opening and closing scenes of this movie. Our time is limited to two minutes, which is why. This site, where the children locate the doll again, will be in a forest and outside the school.

Brief interpretation:

"We are looking for the first two minutes of an original, new thriller movie," the scenario says. This implies that after the production part is through, we will use editing tools to make sure the video doesn't go above two minutes. As a result, the predetermined scenario will be met.

The 12–34 age group is the target audience. In order to accomplish this, we will make sure the characters are between the ages of 22 and 24. This is due to the fact that the viewers will comprehend the characters better and be able to relate to them more.

Lastly, "All content produced must be original and produced by you" is stated in the scenario. This implies that since we will be creating original content for the movie, we can make sure that no already created work will be utilized. Take the location and the script, for instance. Unlike most mystery thrillers, ours will take place in a different kind of setting. This enables us to guarantee that, when producing this movie, we are staying true to.

Evidence of applying filters, transitions and effect to enhance meaning

 Applying filters:

The image up top shows how to alter the opening sequence using filters to draw in more viewers who fit the desired demographic. As a result, they will continue to watch the sequence and appreciate it more.

Transitions:

The graphic up top illustrates how we used to cut between scenes. The opening sequence was streamlined and simple as a result.

Enhance meaning:

An illustration of how we increased the impact of the opening sequence's effects is shown above. For instance, the title of Mandy the doll is displayed in text at the beginning of the clip in the image. This draws viewers since they are interested in what will happen next.

Codes and conventions

Codes & Conventions 1

The codes and conventions were the sound effects that were used. This demonstrates that the genre is a thriller and sets the mood for the target audience so that they feel various emotions. In the film we see at 00:38 the music that we choose is to create a sense of thrill and suspense for the audience. The target audience would be intrigued and would want to keep watching because of the overall spooky mood this creates.

Codes & Conventions 2

The fact that we were outside the lighting was pretty good. However, the lighting appeared to become more depressed when sadhbi's character entered the "school" at 01:55 in the opening sequence. This contributed to the conclusion being both mysterious and suspenseful.

Codes & Conventions 3

Our editing includes transitions with brief descriptions and additional sound effects.  All of these have a significant influence on the final product, which draws the audience in as a whole.

Rushes log

Rushes log strengths:

·      Our rushes log shows the amount of shots its going to take to film.

·      It shows what scene were going to use.

·      The rushes log shows how log each scene is going to be

·      The rushes log shows what zara is going to and Sadhbi.

Rushes log weaknesses:

·      The rushes log is straight forward and might be to vague

·      The rushes log has all our scenes explained and is not to detailed

Recording Rushes:

In the pictures above you can see me using my rushes footage. The hardship I had was dragging all the footage together into a folder. It was  long process but I found a way to do it. The positive thing was I had the clips in order.

Production Set-Up Reflection

The park: we went to a public park to begin filming on the first day to create our movie. We had to look for a place that resembled a forest. This is due to the fact that we had to adhere to the final concept when filming Mandy the Doll's opening scene.

The camera, tripod, and desired angles had to be set up before we could begin filming the opening sequence. This was an essential step since we needed to make sure that the angles were straight.

We had to make sure we had some of the preproduction materials, which was another resource we required. This is critical since we had to make sure we carried out all of the plans and discussions. Due to the storyboards, we were able to follow the plot and structure of the film.

One issue we had to deal with was people walking into our path while we were recording. During filming, this was a challenge. Reshooting shots was how we got around this, or we patiently waited for them to disappear from the shots.

Evidence of using planning materials:

This is my evidence of using the storyboard on set when filming in the location. I used the storyboard to direct the film in case I went off the storyline and got off track and directed a different story idea to what was on the storyboard. On this day we was filming the middle of the film scenes 5-10. One strength I had was we split the storyboard in half so I would only have to worry about getting my part of direction the film done and my partner Sadhbi would have to worry about her part when filming. One weakness was the storyboard being hard to read and see as it was printed in black and white.

In this picture I am using the shooting script to see what type of angles and shots needed to be taken to make sure it aligns with the storyboard pictures and the description of angles that are in the shooting script.  The strengths are is that the shooting script was helpful to know what angles to film at. The weakness is that the paper was hard to see because it was black and white.

In the image above it is clearly shown I am using a piece of pre-production material we have created. In this case it is the script, here I am directing the characters where to go on set to get into frame and what role they should be playing and to put on a certain body language to perfect their role as well as giving them their lines to remember.

Evidence of location:

In the image above there is the evidence of location of a scene whilst filming.

Evidence of using health and safety:

These images are evidence of the location. In the first image I am breaking a stick from a tree that was in the way and could have hit an actor when filming so I removed it.

In the video above me and Sadhbi are explaining why we are picking up items due to safety reasons for our actors when filming so they don't get hurt.

In the video above i am assembling the camera using the tripod and attaching the camera.
