Production Set-Up Reflection

The park: we went to a public park to begin filming on the first day to create our movie. We had to look for a place that resembled a forest. This is due to the fact that we had to adhere to the final concept when filming Mandy the Doll's opening scene.

The camera, tripod, and desired angles had to be set up before we could begin filming the opening sequence. This was an essential step since we needed to make sure that the angles were straight.

We had to make sure we had some of the preproduction materials, which was another resource we required. This is critical since we had to make sure we carried out all of the plans and discussions. Due to the storyboards, we were able to follow the plot and structure of the film.

One issue we had to deal with was people walking into our path while we were recording. During filming, this was a challenge. Reshooting shots was how we got around this, or we patiently waited for them to disappear from the shots.

Evidence of using planning materials:

This is my evidence of using the storyboard on set when filming in the location. I used the storyboard to direct the film in case I went off the storyline and got off track and directed a different story idea to what was on the storyboard. On this day we was filming the middle of the film scenes 5-10. One strength I had was we split the storyboard in half so I would only have to worry about getting my part of direction the film done and my partner Sadhbi would have to worry about her part when filming. One weakness was the storyboard being hard to read and see as it was printed in black and white.

In this picture I am using the shooting script to see what type of angles and shots needed to be taken to make sure it aligns with the storyboard pictures and the description of angles that are in the shooting script.  The strengths are is that the shooting script was helpful to know what angles to film at. The weakness is that the paper was hard to see because it was black and white.

In the image above it is clearly shown I am using a piece of pre-production material we have created. In this case it is the script, here I am directing the characters where to go on set to get into frame and what role they should be playing and to put on a certain body language to perfect their role as well as giving them their lines to remember.

Evidence of location:

In the image above there is the evidence of location of a scene whilst filming.

Evidence of using health and safety:

These images are evidence of the location. In the first image I am breaking a stick from a tree that was in the way and could have hit an actor when filming so I removed it.

In the video above me and Sadhbi are explaining why we are picking up items due to safety reasons for our actors when filming so they don't get hurt.

In the video above i am assembling the camera using the tripod and attaching the camera.
